Qualifications

To qualify for the Friends of Animals program at Killewald Small Animal Hospital, pets must be:

  • At least 5 months old
  • Up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines with verifiable paperwork stating they were given by a licensed veterinarian, if not done at KSAH
  • Examined by KSAH staff with pre-surgical bloodwork done within a month of procedure (or with verifiable paperwork if done elsewhere)

In addition, all animals must go home with pain medication the day of the surgery and be seen back at our hospital 10-14 days for a follow-up.

We strongly suggest you purchase an e-collar to prevent your pet from reaching their incision site. Other additional recommended treatments include the Petlink microchip and laser therapy.

Call us at (716) 694-9191 with any questions or to schedule your pet's pre-surgical exam. We will advise you on the best time to spay or neuter your pet. Then, you may purchase the voucher through the Friends of Animals website here.
